About Me

Liam Schmidt

Bridging Theory and Practice

I'm a second-year Computer Science and Engineering student at The Ohio State University, pursuing a minor in Mathematics. My academic focus is on the intersection of theoretical principles and practical application, where I enjoy leveraging my strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and computer systems to build robust, efficient software.

My experience spans from low-level systems programming in C++ for a drone swarm simulator to developing a full-stack fleet management application with Next.js and Google Cloud Firestore. These projects have allowed me to not only apply my knowledge of software engineering but also to explore complex domains like autonomous systems and real-time data synchronization.

I am driven by a passion for problem-solving and a desire to build solutions that are not only functional but also scalable and well-engineered. I am actively seeking opportunities to contribute to challenging projects and collaborate with teams that are pushing the boundaries of technology.
